A Return to Nostalgia in the Era of the iPhone

A return to authenticity in a time of screens, trends, social media, expectations,

When chatting with couples about my wedding photography services, I do my best to explain my style as clearly and honestly as possible, one way I like to put it is this -

“Think family photo albums before the iPhone was invented”

A return to documenting, to a friend snapping a picture intentionally of an actual, real moment. The flash goes off and we are left with a beautiful photo, maybe a funny photo, and years down the line it means so much to be able to look at our family photo albums and remember how it felt. To see your parents as kids, or your grandparents as kids, or even yourself as a kid. To see the memories laid out as honestly as they happened.

I love to do this for my couples on their wedding day. I want to deliver the full package for you - a few of the traditional posed moments we all see in our grandparent’s wedding albums and love, the real emotion felt between the couple on their day, the authentic documented moments of family and friends enjoying the party and celebrating you, and all the details in between.

I want my couples to look back years down the line and remember exactly how it felt.

All this is to say that I value most what my couple truly wants to do with their wedding day. Don’t listen to the outside opinions, the looming expectations, the silly trends - listen to yourself & your partner. Your wedding day is a celebration of the two of you and your love. The thing I find most beautiful about a wedding day, even after going to dozens and dozens of them, is that each and every wedding is one of a kind. Your day is a reflection of you. There are no ‘in’s and out’s’ or ‘do’s and don’ts’. There is only what will make you happiest.

I’m here to be your friend, to cheer you on when you defy the trends and outsider opinions, to allow you to be yourself and to document your love & life as honestly as I can. Your friend with the camera.
